If you read blogs religiously, chances are you have at one time considered having your own blog. Or maybe you have taken the plunge and already have one. Or perhaps you write on a company blog.
You all likely struggle with the same issues. How do I write consistently good content to maintain my blog?
Here are five tips to successful write for a blog:
- Know what you are writing about.
Often people blame “writers block” or lack of inspiration for their blogging hiatus. Get your ideas and have a short list ready to go at all times. Just keep adding to your list as something stikes you and work on it when you sit down to write. - Block your time.
Distractions are inevitable. Block your time strategically so you know when you can have solid writing time with no interruptions. - Wait to edit.
Many people get too distracted by editing to get a solid blog out. Get all your thoughts written out then go back and edit them. - Mix things up.
Even if your blog is focused on a certain topic, it always helps to mix things up. It gives you creative freedom and allows your readers to get to know you better. - Don’t be afraid to get personal.
Sure, life is rainbows and butterflies behind a blog with nothing but your best DSLR shots. And while those blogs can be fun to read, I love getting to know bloggers personal through their posts about struggles, lessons, and life.
