Is It Really A Passion?

Have you ever wondered the difference between passion and interests?

Recently, I attended Plywood Mornings where Kristen Hard from Cacao spoke. A great communicator with a ton of passion behind Cacao and chocolate, I could have listened to her speak for quite a while.

One of the things Kristen said really struck home to me. I do not have the exact quote, but it was something along the lines of  ”So many people wonder why they can’t get their passion off the ground. Those people have a passion, but it is only 40% passion. They want to have it all but are not willing to risk everything they have.

So often we are told to follow our passion, but how often are we willing to risk everything we have for that passion. Not very often. Can something be a true passion if you are not willing to risk it all?

As I reflect on my own life as a twenty-something, I can think of few things I can truly call a passion and most of them are relationships. Things I would have previously categorized as a passion I have now moved into the interest category.

As I am continually thinking and growing my list of true passions, I wonder… How have you found your true passion? Is it really something you are willing to risk it all for?
